The client states they are looking for "maybe a {famous rock star name} read, but a bit more refined, or a high tech/futuristic sounding read."

I don't possess the same accent as the famous rock star (and faking one won't fool anyone) and, for the life of me, I haven't a clue as to what a high tech/futuristic read might sound like.

But fascinating choices, eh?

They're equating the sound of the spot with the read..instead of with the music..that's what would be high-tech futuristic.

This is another version of people asking for a spot to be "conversational" when the copy reads like the instructions to decontaminate a nuclear power plant.

The explanation is simple: the people doing the hiring don't know what the frak they're doing.

Thanks, guys. There are times when I'll post something because I just don't understand. But in this case I was pretty sure someone had stepped out for a coffee break and didn't return.

I think I'll politely decline and cite temporary insanity.
