| I'm an iD22 user as well. I'm still using the DBX 286a in the booth and bypassing the Audient preamps, but they do sound super clean and are a bit less sterile than the Apogee pres. I used it as a stand alone solution for a while but I wanted gain control in the booth and a HPF that wasn't 100hz (the iD22 HPF is pretty much worthless for VO) so I put the DBX in the booth and run a balanced cable out to the iD22. It has worked flawlessly for a while now and I rarely reboot my iMac. |

For what it's worth, I've been using the Digidesign (now AVID) Digi 002 Pro Tools Control Surface. Apart from audio production, I use the Digi 002 and Pro Tools for phone patch sessions and, because it is a Mac OS X Core Audio device, I can also use it (and do so most often) as the input/output device for Adobe Audition, and it also provides the source for my powered monitors.

Mine does not. That's worth a call to the California office. They can get you good insight and find out if you need services.
Do you have the most recent firmware |
I contacted them and they said that I shouldn't let my computer go into sleep mode and voila, problem solved.
Not exactly the response I had hoped for. |

Simple fix eh? In discussions with a friend that was head of MIS at a movie company we both worked for I asked if it was worth letting my PC sleep. He said it really doesn't make a difference if you leave your PC or Mac on without going to sleep. You might consider turning off the monitor to possibly extend its life but your computer is not going to noticeably last longer by letting it sleep unless you have intensive programs that continually run. Those would be something akin to scientific labs and others of that type that are involved in research and hard testing. The hardest thing on a PC is actually booting it up. Physically the on/off switch takes the most abuse.
I figure recording is not of that ilk. Daily use on our systems is actually pretty light comparatively.
Glad you got that figured out. You didn't have to spend any money.
Did you see the space-x launch the other day from your place? I missed it. |

I recently purchased the Focusrite Clarett 2Pre and LOVE IT. It's Thunderbolt, so I really love it  . The only con is the mic gain is not enough....and yes, I'm running condenser mic, not dynamic. I bypass the pre and run my Avalon for one mic and use the internal pre for the second mic. My Avalon is only at about 9:00, so I have "hours" of gain on that, but the Clarett requires a setting of 9 out of a 10 max. Other than that, it's wonderful. Sound is super clean.

I'm running the ID-22 as a a standalone, but I have a glitch where I lose monitors, and revert to the computer speaker,..maybe there's some updated driver I need to download..
I have a 286A that's just sitting in the rack, maybe I'll try the preamp in that |

Crank that Avalon up to between 12 and 3 and the clarett can go down . |
