yeah, i try to keep it at around 20,000 feet. I'm good with "there is no acoustic problem that absorption cant fix" types of concepts.
If I start trying to listen to the physics of it, I begin to involuntarily reach for miscellaneous weapons with which to submit personal agony. |

Acoustical engineering can be like Rocket Surgery but the basics are easy to grasp.
Mass and Air. Enough mass to dampen vibrations, and keep air from moving through cracks and gaps.
Then treat the inside to keep sound waves from building up, and causing problems. Think of water in a bathtub. If you rock back and fourth with the right rhythm, you'll create a wave big enough to splash the floor.
Dimensional formulas are a guideline, square is bad, rectangle better, out of square or multi faceted diamond better still. And bigger is always better, but for a booth people are often limited by the space they're in. So it's a series of compromises. Aim high, get close enough. _________________ Company, villainous company, hath been the spoil of me...
