That would be the directional direction in which I would strongly direct you directionally direct yourselves.

Most VO people should NEVER put a headshot of themselves on their web page, the headshot should be MY headshot.

A recent ruling by the European Court - "the girls could use one of me in my LBD". My response was struck from the record, Her Ladyship further ruled "just for that you can make your own ****ing coffee!"

This would be a really interesting experiment actually. If you could get say 100 VO people to ALL use Philip's picture on their website for a period of say, 2 weeks, the reactions would be fantastic. Can you imagine going to Doug's website, listening to demos then seeing Philip? Or Kristin's?

This is a test of the Banksy headshot system. This is only a test.

Well, I tried using this as my avatar for a whole day

and didn't get one bit of extra business. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

Who would be in that Little Black Dress, Philip?

Herself, or Yourself?

This is a debate that me and Emma have had ad infinitum over the past several years. On the one hand, why pre-condition or your audience? Let them use their imagination. But on the other hand, we're in a people business. People buy from people. What have you got to hide?

I was once greeted by a new client with the words; "where's your beard? Your voice has got a beard! I would have sworn you had a beard...." True story. And I've always been aware that my voice is taller than I am.

There's no right or wrong approach. Whatever works for you. Our new website is launching in a week or so. We've kept our pics off the demo pages but they are not hard to find on home page and biogs. We might lose a few bookings if our faces don't fit the spec, but I'm guessing we might gain a few if people think we look reasonably sane and friendly.

One of my agents requested a picture for their website. As previously stated my entire radio career I was told by listeners that I sound taller, whatever that means..

I have a website... floating in the internet cosmos, gathering dust bunnies. Awhile back I added my photo, thinking it would spruce things up a bit. Someone hacked my photo and used it on GoFundMe. As of last weekend, they were at $37k. When it comes to head shots, it's location, location, location.

Surely I jest. Wink
