Ah! My dream is to live long enough to finally learn and accept the fact that sometimes we just need a space and we need hardware.....
. that doesn't do anything
. but does it well and brilliantly.

Obviously to save expense I move the Davy Lamp in Studio North to Studio South as and when it is in the studio in which I am in.

Keeping you all in the loop. This is how Studio North sounds with the addition of the Universe (preamp thing) http://mbf.cc/VYUn9P

Audio is as recorded. 1 sec silence and then raw mic and pre.

Now, where was I? oh yes, work then Collie walk.

This one sits in Studio South powering the U87ai. Are the Universal Audio 710s identical? This one is the more identical of the two.

Is this the secret revealed?
Has Philip been rumbled?
Is this where we find that the "box that does nothing, but does it brilliantly" is another one of Philip's dastardly ruses that keep us all wondering about the mysterious (and eminently bookable) voice of Port Gordon?

Who else spotted that the knobby thing in the middle at the bottom is turned all the way over to "tube"?

I couldn't tell the difference post test (tube at 11 and then untubed at 11).

A sound engineer friend told me that my voice is tube sound any way so no need for thingy at 11. Is that a good thing? No idea.
