After months of waiting, the house in Wisconsin NOW BELONGS TO ME!
Being a bit of a nerd on the technology side of narration, I set up a quick-and-dirty recording rig this evening and made my FIRST recording in the new space. With absolutely NO acoustic treatment in the space and a bare hardwood floor, there was a bit of the sound I remember as a kid when you talked in one of those old marble-lined restrooms in the court houses built in the early 1900s. There was a little bit of boxy reverberation!!!
The GOOD news: I measured the noise level and it was -57. As they say over at the doctor's office: "I think the patient may live!" |

Congrats! I'll bet that it felt nice to have a "Wahoo" moment.

That's awesome Vernon. Being able to build it the way YOU want for what YOU do!

Of course this begs the question, what were you doing in a court house when you were a kid?

Small Texas towns even though they were county seats did not provide much in the way of "comfort zones". I don't remember retailers back then having rest rooms available to the public. I remember restaurants that didn't have public restrooms. So, a trip to the court house was to access the only place where the public could pee.
That was back when we thought government provided a service to the public |
