In the booking confirmation I just received from an agent, they requested a phone number so that the client can reach me. Is this unusual; don't agents usually avoid direct communication between parties?

Absolutely!!!

.... except for the few thousand times I've had to talk to clients during ISDN, phone patch, and live sessions. It's just terrible what they make us do.

I guess I didn't make clear that I don't have any issues being contacted by clients. This was something no agent had asked before.

The fact that your agent doesn't have your phone number seems stranger to me than that your agent wanted to give your phone number to a client.
