He has been, and forever will be, my one celebrity crush. He was the only man I was ever going to marry. His songs are the songs I sung my children to sleep to every night. I'm so glad he isn't suffering any more and I'm thrilled beyond words that he completed another album before he passed. I've had it on pre-order for what seems like forever! What an amazing poet.

I remember reading a biography of Cohen and his remembering the night when he told his wife he'd decided to start putting his poems to song. She said something like: "Oh, please don't."

Funny, but imagine if he'd felt shamed or just shy and never made that lovely and powerful music. A lesson there, surely.
