We happy band of wandering storytellers blunder around picking up crumbs in the hope of sustaining our lives. Every so often the sun is reflected off a shiny new sixpence, it is ours and ours alone, the week becomes a safe place with all our needs met plus money for ale and cheese at the nearest village Inn.
The VO-BB Inn is open to all! Storytellers gather here to share tales of their respective journeys and for those who are down on their luck ale and cheese is bought without a second thought with no mention of debt or repayment.
My stories are mine and to each their own. We laugh, we cry, we support, we shrug and perchance we bellow "tis NOT so! Away with your nonsense!"
Away from our solitude we find substance. Publicly we celebrate the roads thus far travelled yet privately, not so much. We deny the thirds.
"The thirds, sir? Explain"
My number for this week. Good merchants and villagers have sprinkled coins upon me to total, in the currency of George Washington, $13,500. The number is but a number. I make no boast, take no credit and give no suggestion as to why it is so great, so little, so worthy of a dismissive shrug or how my dearest may replicate it. So what of my dearest, my thirds?"
1/3rd will enjoy the tale, titter or laugh then raise a glass.
1/3rd will move their gaze to a well set up fellow, the smile of the oh so cheerful Serving Girl or perchance nod feigning interest until it is their chance to share a personal tale whilst more ale and cheese is brought to the table.
"Sir, the final 3rd, what of them?"
Forgive my plain speaking. They are ****ING FURIOUS! Such is their ire the taste of ale becomes as bile and what was once the best cheese in the county takes on the malodorous manifestation of Dockers privy in Southwark afore Sunday prayers.
Is there a boast hidden above? No, unless you are a 1/3rd who chooses so. On the subject of choice, my Dearest ones think and believe only this. Not one amongst us is able to make report of good or ill fortune. My journey is mine and yours is precisely that. Where have we a choice? In our 1/3rd.
Lighten your load and choose wisely as your smile, your laughter, your company, your wise counsel and your delicious tales make the world of this elderly and frail Storyteller the richer. |

Good show! | Correction $15,250. Takes a while for bank account to catch up with currency conversion. But it's fine me and Bess don't eat much. |

Thank you. The money part is pretty meaningless as I have no real influence over too little, too much or just right. Where we are able to influence things is, as the story shows, in our attitudes, our choice of 3rd. |

Yes, every scrap and shilling.
Most recent away from base day was a trip to London for a national TV commercial session on 7th September.

I am so damnably glad to be over in the dark corner, so that I can occasionally feast on this manner of Publick outBursting and marvel that such common-yet-magical wisdom randomly echoes loudly through the room, as like a Fool from whom the Import of Life is handed on a rusty tray... making me smile and wonder...Did I Indeed Learn this lesson this time...? _________________ SoundscenesDC, main talent and production offices just 385k km up the gravity well in LuNoHoCo Center, old satellite studios still bookable at the future site of Johnson City! |
