Hello VO peeps! It's nice to be back here again. Can't ever remember what kept me away so long.
I'm wondering if any of you hunt down freelance help from time to time, and if so, how/where.
I'm particularly looking for a part-time accountant and more importantly, I'd like to find someone to review walkthroughs of the video games I've been in and pull down video clips of them. There are 50+, so my original plan of having one of my teenagers do it hasn't been working.
I was thinking of Guru.com, but my experience on the other side of that one has been less than stellar. And I'm not too keen on Fiverr. _________________ Kendra Hoffman

as for the accountant - check the local chamber of commerce or business networking group(s) ... for the screen grabs - i think you're on the right track with a teenager - just not YOUR teenager. if i asked - even paid - my boys for a project, they would somehow ACTUALLY become part of the mattress, sink into it & disappear into another dimension, BUT, they worked their asses off for other people. high school A/V kid? jr. college? even college MCMA student? _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

OMG, right? About the teenagers? My kids are pretty good workers otherwise, but you described it perfectly.
Didn't know the term "MCMA" but I do now. We just called them "com majors" back in the day. This sounds fancier. Thanks for the suggestion! There's a local community college not far from here that might be a good option. _________________ Kendra Hoffman

For general virtual assistant hiring, I've had success on Virtual Staff Finder http://www.virtualstafffinder.com/. You may be able to find the right person on there to hunt through video game playthroughs. You're able to get pretty specific with your hiring requests. The assistants are all based out of the Philippines.
My experience with accounting is that it was better to stick with a local and experienced accountant and then I hired someone to do bookkeeping on VSF which led to the accountant's bill being cheaper Works really well as she does all my invoicing, expenses, reconciling etc.
If you use one of the platforms like Wave Accounting, Zoho Books, Freshbooks etc. you may be able to find an accountant through that service. _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |
