"David McCullough, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author whose lovingly crafted narratives on subjects ranging from the Brooklyn Bridge to Presidents John Adams and Harry Truman made him among the most popular and influential historians of his time, has died. He was 89." AP News
He was also a fantastic narrator if it was a topic you enjoyed hearing about. Here's his opening to the Civil War series from Ken Burns and PBS:

McCullough had such a great voice and did such a good job narrating those Ken Burns documentaries, it was easy to forget that narrating was just his "side hustle" and that he was, first and foremost, a writer. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
