I wrote Veritone purely out of curiosity, having heard a rumor about the cost of having an AI voice produced. I have absolutely no plans of doing this even if I could (and I can't) but - it was interesting.

Veritone bought out VocalID. I asked about the cost of producing an AI voice as some talent are already doing.

Bottom line: $9,000 charged to the talent to create the AI voice (or higher depending on..??) , $500 per month thereafter to store it with secure protocols whether you book from it or not.

Our business model is helping voice talent create and fully own their synthetic voices. Veritone profits from the creation and secure storage of synthetic voices. We do not use or sell the synthetic voices we create for the artists. Artists have complete control over how they choose to leverage their synthetic voices.

You can use your synthetic voice clones for various use cases, including audiobook narration, ad reads, IVR, e-learning, commercials, and localization via multi-language translation and more.

We replicate your voice using around 4 hrs of quality audio samples. Cost varies depending on the style and quantity of custom voices you need and how often you use them.

$7,500 | Talent Voice model (One Time Fee)
$1,500 | Voice Model Training (One Time Fee)
$500 | Monthly fee for 10 hours of TTS processing :

To clarify: The $500 reoccurring monthly fee is for the secure storage of the synthetic voice regardless of how much of the 10hrs of TTS processing is used that month.

This AI door swings both ways. I predict that at some time in the not too distant future you will be able to buy a piece of software that will enable you to make all this a DIY project for about 200 bucks.
