Aside from Mr. Banks (I'm assuming he's a...'Auditory Raconteur'?) what do you tell people you do?
What do you label your professional endeavor?
'Voice actor'?, 'Voice Artist?', 'Voiceover pro?'

As easy as this is to joke about, I'm actually really curious about, for instance, what you write on your taxes for 'profeasion' or when someone you've just met asks what you do for a living.

Thanks!

Voice actor is my usual introduction, and if the situation merits I'll list a couple of things I voice. If they're younger I'll mention video games and animation. If they're older I usually say audio books and medical narration.

Earlier in my career I did more production, engineering, and writing so I labeled myself "creative services" with those revenooers. I still do.

On my tax form I list either Announcer or Narrator (I can't recall which). If people ask, I try to avoid using the term "voiceover" if at all possible, so as to avoid being quizzed on "how to break into VO." When asked, I start by saying I'm in advertising. If pressed for further detail, or if I suspect there's a potential to get some actual work, I will cop to being a voiceoverist.

My tax returns says actor. When people ask, I say voice actor. If they ask what kind of voice acting, I tell ‘em mostly for cartoons. Etc.

Taxes: Voice Actor
Introductions: Voice Actor, when the day comes where income from that is larger than income from my day job.

I introduce myself as an audiobook narrator. (On my tax return I'm listed as a actor.)
