Well, no! But to be fair you couldn't phone to ask me any way. At some point before midday yesterday BT ceased my business line service and my ISDN. Why? Business so bad I didn't pay the bill? No, nothing so mundane. It's because my service is being transfered to another service and the order for the first service to tra...... I lost the will to live after the 97th call to or was it from BT?
When will they get me up and running again? Apparently I need to talk to another department. Sadly I have run out of departments. |

Can they be held responsible for lost business? Is this something you knew was coming? |

Gawd 'elp you, Sir Philip.
Last year, right here where the deer and the antelope play, my ISDN long-distance "pick" got changed along with all phone lines associated with Metro Traffic in Boston. It took 3 weeks to straighten out.
Luckily, I was able to receive calls at some point in the saga, but I normally dial out to my traffic clients.
A telco networks specialist tech had to come TO MY STUDIO for us to finally discover that a work order had been generated within MetroNetworks Boston to make the change. The next 2 and a half weeks were spent playing hot-potato over who could recind the change order/make a new order to put things back.
We are in the communications biz, aren't we? _________________ DBCooperVO.com

There should have been a continuous service and a seamless transition except for a couple of hours 31st Jan. I have told the phone company (BT) that for every business hour I am "out of service" they are running up a bill at my minimum corporate rate. |

Do you have a back-up? Such as a broadband internet delivery program that could, if needed, be bridged with ISDN. |

PB, that is NOT a good thing. As I remember, is your friend "down the road" having the same problem...? Maybe you could borrow his studio???
The only problem with "billing" these guys/gals is - which department do you send the invoice to? I hope you have a good solicitor/lawyer.
And, everyone has told me ISDN is reliable? (Said with a wry smile on my face) I am sorry iSpeek is not up and running yet, I would send you one to get over the hump, but that depends upon whether or not you still have internet access. If you do, check into Source Connect... and bridge Banskey, bridge...

Philip,
So, now that you own a telephone company, what are you going to do with it? _________________ Be well,

The problem is all mine because of a service transfer. My present service is a package of two analogue lines and ISDN called BT Highway. This service is being withdrawn on 28th Feb. My new lines will be a service called ISDN2 and my analogue lines. The idea was to unplug Highway and plug in the later services on 31st Jan. What happened was someone at BT unplugged Highway yesterday and so had I said nothing I would've been out of circulation until the 31st. There is no cell signal where I am so whilst I could drive to Richard's place in Clochan to do ISDN jobs no one would be able to contact me to do them in the first place as I have no live phone line.
Someone in BT made a mistake, leaving me with a problem. What has proved exasperating is that no one was interested in providing a solution but there was lot of "not my department" and "well, someone else made a mess of this".
I could also bill BT for a few hours of staff counselling, not a happy team. |

I is re-connected! As of around 8pm UK time. My ISDN appears to work, the lines are there but will know for sure when I talk to another ISDN voice. |

I'll be happy to receive a test call if you haven't done it already. I have a Telos Zephyr. I'm in the Eastern time zone, so you're 5 (6?) hours ahead of me. Email me at jim@bartonvoice.com if you're interested.
