The only thing I'd suggest if you're looking at a list like this to build a DAW is that it's actually geared toward building a DAW and not just a generic PC.
For instance, Windows Vista isn't the best way to go right now since many pieces of DAW-related hardware don't yet have Vista drivers. There are no Vista drivers, for instance, for PreSonus FireBox / FirePod products, and many people seem to use those.
Also, whereas a generic PC build might be ok with certain components, DAW systems seem to favor certain things. A lot of what I've read online seems to indicate that TI-based FireWire controllers work MUCH better with FireWire audio products than non-TI-based ones. So either a motherboard with a TI-based 1394 controller or a separate TI-based FireWire card might be a better idea than a non-TI-based system.
The system's audio hardware is also, obviously, of importance.
So again, just a heads-up that what may be good for a "regular" PC might not work for a DAW if that's what you're planning to build. _________________ Lou Zucaro
