Hi, I'm Yancey. A Denver area VO.
Let's see, a little about me.
Hmmm.
I started in Radio in the 80's with AFRTS, spent ten years as a broadcaster for the Air Force, then got out around 97. I've been working at the Air Force Academy since then. Institutional VO mostly, with some spot and character stuff on occasion. I'm currently represented by Donna Baldwin Talent here in the mile high city, my latest work was some Tom Shane spots cut recently, and you can hear me at www.uppergi.org, it's a medical multimedia program our shop here put together. I'm a gemini, and my favorite color is blue. No Green. Uh, Blue. Definitely blue.
So...
Who are all you people?!?[/url] |

Hi Yancey.
It's also always good to see a new face on a Vespa. So long as there's an entire person attached to it. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Yancy,
Welcome from Charlotte, NC. I agree with Donovan. There's a tremendous amount of valuable material in the archives. _________________ Be well,

Welcome Yancey. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. These are some fine folks. Present company excluded of course.
Your avatar made me laugh, and I mean in the best way possible. It reminds of an Eddie Izzard bit that I will quote here but will likely not be that funny taken out of context.

But maybe now, the dream is to be in the south of Europe - in Greece, in ltaly, in Spain - and to be on a moped with no helmet on going, "Ciao."
That's a cool dream. lt's not much but it's as good as we've got.
And it's pretty funky, cos when you die, you look a mess.
I don't know. I just like it. Cos you're on a f**king hairdryer.
There's dogs walking faster than you.
It's just pretty damned cool for me. That's the European Dream. |

Eddie Izzard is hilarious. Have you seen his new show "The Riches" on FX? _________________ Lou Zucaro

Welcome aboard Yancey. This is a great place with (as Donovan pointed out) a vast ocean of knowledge just waiting for the intrepid seeker of knowledge to dive in. Jump in there Sir, the water is fine!
Good luck!
P.S. I just love The Riches. My wife's got it on our TiVO schedule. Great fun! _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |

Hi, Yancy! I'm a relatively new poster, as well, and I just have to say, they are NOT KIDDING about the 'ton of knowledge' thing. I haven't had to post a single question or topic yet! I type a subject into the Search box, and I get hits on ten different pre-existing threads, LOL. I spent most of yesterday reading about mic comparisons and collapsible boxes and Snowballs. *grin*
These people know everything!

Another welcome from Charlotte, NC!
The vintage Vespa is fantastic! I bought one 4 years ago- rode it everywhere for 3 months...then woke up one morning and only a small piece of the tail light was left. A neighbor saw a group of men taking it in the middle of the night but 'didn't think to call the police'. Nice. It was blue, no green, no blue, no green...ok, it was blue Seeing yours makes me want to get another one! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Welcome fellow AFRTS alumn(Traabzon ,Turkey 1965-67) you will find that you will spend a great deal of time here reading the various posts and you will be informed and entertained. The Vespa brings back memories of the first motor vehicle I ever owned. _________________ A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. |
