Hi Bruce,

Small world. I worked for Bobby Rich in Los Angeles in early 1979, shortly after he left KFMB, I'm guessing? Gene Knight had heard me on another L.A. station and called up out of the blue, asking if I'd be interested in meeting Bobby to talk with him about joining them at KHTZ, which I did, and wound up doing 6-10PM for awhile. I still think that Gene's outreach was amazingly kind. We didn't know each other, and I thought that his gesture -- seeing if he could help out a total stranger based only on what he heard on the air -- was (and remains) really extraordinary.
