I think they better allow a function to clear previous feedback and start over so that we don't all start slinging mud at each other!!! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

You'll be able to delete feedack from those who you have not done a financial transaction with. The feedback from actual clients will be permanent. _________________ Jeff

Yeah, I called and they explained it to me. But the more entries you have, the better off you are in the rankings... so it's a bit of a catch-22.
I have issue with (just like voice123) people being able to leave me feedback that didn't hire me. Especially when I'm pretty sure one of which was a Mom and Pop type place that was looking for their voicemail message that I aud for (a custom demo, no less).
I've also decided I have a problem with talents leaving feedback. A talent who shall go unnamed, of course, left me feedback and it wasn't favorable. I'm hoping they just mistakenly clicked on the stars. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Well I just listened to your demos and I think you're a 5-star talent so I rated you accordingly. _________________ Jeff

drat!
Caryn caught my dastardly plan to leave negative feedback for everyone.
LOL! And this is a reason why I step into such things as Voice123 with much trepidation. The last thing I need is to deal with another site that's turned into nothing more than a popularity contest (I'd only just migrated here from one).
I could see this for people who've hired you (kinda like eBay, earn a good rep from those you've done business with), MAYBE...
But from other talent that you've never worked with? Thank you very much, but no. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

LOL Yoda....
I'm guessing it has something to do with competition... I dunno.
And thanks Jeff!! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I received two 1 stars from other Voice Talents. The funny thing is that both of them were about the worst VO's I've ever heard. It's no wonder they felt compelled to give me such a horrible rating. I'm no Don LaFontaine (yet), but I wouldn't stoop to that level. |

I dropped in the ranking today because I deleted the ONE STAR ranking from 5 Voices.com VO talents. I had heard through the grapevine that people were 'joking' about giving me a low rating because they were "sick of looking at my name" in the number one slot.
Look-- I don't know how I got in the top ten, let alone getting to be number one. The only thing that being in the top ten has gotten me, as far as I can tell, is that it makes my dad really proud. (Daddy loves me.)
But I am sad that my ranking is affected by me taking action to remove malicious rankings.

Give them some time to iron the kinks out, Amy. I suspect that what you experienced is not the intended result.
As a software tester by trade, my gut reaction to what I've seen is that they pushed this out too soon. I've seen many obvious bugs. To me, this is really still beta quality. _________________ Jeff

You know, I'm a very honest girl and I will admit, I've given poor feedback on voices.com to ONE talent who was not very nice to me. And this talent is not very nice to a lot of people. My behavior was silly, I know... and I shouldn't have done it. It was stupid b/c what purpose does it really serve? So that talent will drop ten notches in the rankings? Big deal. If this talent asked me about it, I would tell that person exactly why I gave them the rating - b/c I think they're unprofessional.
As for me, however, I can't say that I've offended or been unprofessional with anyone, that I know of, and if I did, it certainly wasn't intentional. (Unlike the talent I rated.) I try to be nice, helpful, accomodating to all my fellow vo's!! So, I'm really baffled by this.
In the end, it doesn't really matter I guess. I think I'm more concerned b/c my low feedback came from a talent I truly respect. I need to sleep on this and see if it still bugs me tomorrow, and if so, I'll ask this person about it.
-- EDIT: Amy, just read your post... you are not the talent I'm referring to above to whom I gave a poor ranking! -- _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Yeah, I deleted two One-star rankings from people I don't even know!
I've only got a few feedbacks, so not sure about the rankings either...whatever!
But, Amy that is really petty of those VOs to do that to you.....actually it just SUCKS!
But I'm sure the kinks will be worked out...and hey, I just got a new gig & my phone patch worked out today so I'M a happy camper!

any takers on how long before someone writes a script to give everyone negative reviews.
just a matter of time I think...
anyway, don't be suprised by the petty reasons some folks come up with giving you negative feedback. Just saying is all _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

I was informed that I am THE ONLY talent who has had a complaint about this, by the way. Oh really? The only one.... Hmmmm.
