Do you have better luck by responding to the open calls, or by people finding your page over there?
I've finally bitten the bullet and put one up, and fired off ten or so auditions.
BTW, if you look at the page, don't hack me to bits just quite yet...I threw a few pieces on to make sure it worked, but they are far from my best work. |

If you put up samples of anything but your best work, your chances of being hired go down. Remember, the open cattle calls have hundreds of respondents.
I've gotten work from the cattle call, but no private leads. _________________ Jeff

I have gotten a couple of clients from private leads off of Voices. One is turning into a repeat client and looks like it will be fairly beneficial. I don't have as much time to sit down and pounce on the auditions like some do. I am lucky to pick out a select few a week that I might be suited for and give them a custom audition. |

And I'm Jeff's Bizarro World counter-part.
Nary a nibble on hundreds of cattle calls, but a couple of Privates.
In 18 months.
I'm with six sites. They pay for themselves, yes.
But the combined cost is much better invested in the wining, dining, and winning of an agent or two. That more than pays for itself; and more. |
