That initial "click to activate" message is what this code gets rid of. |
While the code is much appreciated, methinks it would be easier for me to tell users "having trouble with this page? Get Firefox."
IE gives me the "click here" message. FF loads everything with no fuss, no muss. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Has nothing to do with "trouble". This is not a workaround for a bug. It's simply a small bit of code to make the user experience more pleasant. If you need to message to your clients that the page best works in a specific browser, then it's time to hire a web professional. Your website should work correctly in any browser. Period. And the bit of code fun I've posted is one small step in that direction. _________________ Jeff

IE still has nearly 60% market share though... _________________ Lou Zucaro

Easy, pardner, I agree. Just making a point.
However, now that I think about it: if the most popular browser on the market can't properly execute a relatively simple piece of code, then I'd call that a "bug". IMHO.
Just to clarify: when you said "put it with all of your html files on your site", I'm assuming you mean it goes in the root directory, right? _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Nobody said anything about not executing. This isn't a workaround for getting something to work. It's purely cosmetic.

The files can go wherever you want. Just make sure your paths are adjusted accordingly. If you keep everything in the same folder, you don't need to worry about paths. _________________ Jeff

Yeah, it's not that it doesn't display it properly, it's just that yet another company decided to sue Microsoft and they were forced to do something silly that nobody else has been forced to do. _________________ Lou Zucaro
