Big James,
Great voice quality! Not a fan of the demos as much. Long pauses in demos will do no favors for anyone. Most likely, someone will turn it off with the long pauses and fades you have. I'm sure you don't want that.
You have a young James Earl Jones / Dave Fennoy type sound, especially on your narration demo...you should be on Voice123 from what I hear on this board. They seem to be always asking for your sound.
I would say get your mouth moving more and get a good grasp on every word that is about to come out of your mouth. I hear a little slop...like "jus" instead of just and a slip on the word "positive" in the commercial demo. The key...hit all the words cleanly without sounding like you are and overemphasizing. It's a constant battle for many. But if you are new, you are doing really, really well right out of the gates. You can get better I would bet. You have a great sound. Now just zero in on the control of the voice and your words and you will be on to something big.
Your narration demo should be smoothed out...it is pretty choppy. Work on a smoother flow and maybe add a spot with a more friendly relaxed sound. You have the training/authoritative thing working a lot. Show another side on this one. _________________ Ben

Well, heck... I'm from Ohio and I've been to Japan. Group hug!!
I like your stuff too James. With more practice and refining you'll be a force to be reckoned with. Do tighten things up and ditch the pauses. |
