Center Around (impossible, it can revolve around)

Everytime I heard a jock say this I would cringe "hosted by (insert other person's name here) and myself." We had one who said it all the time.

A myriad of (insert noun) so that would be "a variety of a variety of?"

Some of these were pointed out to me years ago by my TV news director when he would critique my scripts. At the time I thought he was a pain, but I did learn a lot.

I just thought of another one: Sports reporters are almost exclusively guilty of this phrase: "You HAVE to feel good about __________ ."

Well, actually, no, I don't HAVE to feel good about anything...but I can choose to.

I agree BobbinBeam. Aren't we in the business of vocalizing mental images? Some phrases are absolutely grammatically incorrect. But they can convey a better mental image.
