Ah, Chris...enjoy the cheeky Shiraz.
Norfolk is a great town! I have friends in VA Beach and we've been to a few Admirals' games at the Scope.
I feel your airplane pain. I live in Decatur, GA and when it's overcast they send all of the ATL departing flights for the midwest over my house. Of course, when I decided to take the place it was during a prolonged dry spell when there were zero planes overhead. I thought I'd be safe since I'm twenty miles from the airport but noooooooooo...ATL take-offs are in no hurry to get to cruising altitude.
Fortunately, the vast majority of the jets are 717s to 737s or smaller so my noise floor is fine with the soundproofing I've done. Very rarely will a 757 drift by, but I've never had one during a session (knocks on wood). If international flights came over my house I'd have to move!
Sorry everyone to go off topic a bit...perhaps I could make this post on-topic by claiming my booth is a dumping ground for jet fuel. |

My Bostons love laying about the studio (comfy sofa or floor at my feet), but they often make unexpected noises snoring or snorting from one end, and some days they make a fair amount of noise from the other end too*, so I have to banish them during critical recording times.

So...my studio walls are covered with "Sea Foam Green" Auralex (disgusting color...but very cheap on eBay because of it). The cat, Mrs. Prindle, dislikes the color SO much that she sharpens her claws on it whenever she can sneak in unobserved. (sigh) Until the Disney people call with that $100,000 retainer...it's gonna be patch, patch patch!
BTW...our very own Dierdre just finished my website. Isn't she the BEST? Swing on by: www.AckermanAudio.com.
Thanks again D. |

Diane,
Thank you...for both compliments. What's that? Oh, yes. Mrs. Prindle thanks you also. |
