The new snazzy TV commercial for the Nissan X-trail caught our attention. We went to the dealer, sat in one ...........Mmmmmmmmmmm? Let's just check something out. Thanks to Nissan we bought a Land Rover Freelander2. Only fair really as either last week or the week before I voiced a TV commercial for ......guess which one?

Nice website too!

http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/_popups/freelander2_microsite.htm

Of course if I do a commercial for ice cream next I will feel honour bound to eat one.

I've just received a lovely email!!! A certain person browsing VO-BB does not approve of me working, working regularly, name dropping clients, implying that some clients dare to enjoy sessions in which I am the talent of choice.
That word again TALENT, yes I am the voice TALENT! As for me daring to buy a car ... What a b*s*** I am!

Would you please all use this thread to join in condemning me. It'll make the anonymous hotmailer feel better and for me it will teach me humility and about time too!!!

Very character building

My children are constantly asking for things they see on TV. Mostly food. Because of this I have caved recently to requests to go to Red Lobster and Chili's restaurants, and to buy KFC extra-crispy chicken (which was pronounced inedible) (the restaurants weren't bad though). But I will now count my blessings that they are not asking for Land Rovers.

Also, this has gotten me thinking - of all the commercials I've voiced, which of those products would I actually want? I like stuff I can use up, that won't clutter my house, so it would have to be a visit to a day spa or hair salon. Or one of the restaurants. Mmmmmmmm, fooooooood.......

a few weeks ago i went to a land rover event in new jersey. got to drive a range rover off road... really off road... through creek beds and up steep inclines and such. man this is a really nice vehicle. the technology is amazing.

if i had the money, i would definitely get me one.

guess i'm sticking with my '99 passat for a while

Ah. The anonymous email full of sage advice and general dressing-down. I, too, have been a recipient. Why do people do that? Is their self-esteem in such short supply that they have to stage an internet drive-by for relief?

Wow, who would have thought that would happen? I received a "secret" email a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't too keen on that one myself. <sigh>... just ignore it. Congrats on the new car... and the cool gig!!! I think you're awesome!

The Range Rover is my dream car. It's on my vision board as the car I'm going to have one day. Really, it's a toss up between that and a new Mercedes 500SL convertible. I have one now... it's 16 years old. Bought it used 3 years ago. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

We had a Land Rover... well, my husband did when we were dating. Love that car... it saved my life. I was driving and got rear-ended by a semi truck who was doing about 40mph. The Land Rover had $18K worth of damage, and all I had was whiplash.... and a somewhat upset fiance'.

I'd love to do a Dairy Queen commercial!!

Your phantom e-mailer is clearly a person of no talent who is eating her heart out after seeing VO-BB members of considerable talent get their due. We're allowed to crow and this is the place to do it.

I never did understand those who take out their frustrations over their own shortcomings as hatred towards others instead of plowing that energy back into self improvement.... or as is likely needed in this case, the search for another line of work.

Way to go PB!

Oh, I just did some narrations for large John Deere bulldozers and log handlers called "skidders". I'm not sure I'm going out and buying either of those anytime soon, however.

It would be kind of funny to have to buy what we do the voiceovers for.
For me, the latest would have been some ready-mix concrete.
Not sure what it would be used for around here.

If I get the gig I just submitted an audition for, I suppose I'll have to buy Las Vegas.

Need to check the available funds...
