Kind of like "I could care less". Really? That's great to know you care at least a little.
It should be "I couldn't care less" since you're at the bottom of your care-o-meter. _________________ Jeff

Also decrying pronunciation ignorance....the pretty young thing news reader on CNN Headline news who pronounced the name Luciano (as in Pavarotti) with an "s", Loosiano, instead of the "ch" that the rest of the knowing world uses.... oh, and not once, but three times in the same story.
Ugh.

Well - that just shows to go ya! Twasn't in context so my brain saw couture instead of the person who makes the fancy duds. _________________ Playing for a living...

Okay, I think I've got everybody beat today.
I can. not. say. anything.
Just one example of many similar utterances:
"the calming effects of a gentle waterfowl".
I had to curl into a ball on the floor of the booth and shriek for a minute to get over that one. AND this is a job that I'm supposed to send unedited. I think I'm going to have to cheat. |

I'm trying to figure out why they would want it sent unedited...and how they would know it if you did edit it (unless they listened it to the record). I can understand wanting all takes, but surely I'd "clean it up" if necessary. |

Actually Don it was a prior agreement between us - the price was a bit lower than I wanted and I told them I would do it for their price if they would do ALL the editing. I didn't know they would slip all those soothing waterfowl in there though. |

Ahhh...I see. Well, as long as you're the one in charge. I usually send all my stuff edited just so they never know how many times it took me to get one of those %U^#%^$ sentences right. |

I don't understand what you're so upset about. That mallard outside my studio window always calms me right down. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

my good doG the yapping schnauzers are at it again NW of my studio.
the ghetto window plug does nothing to allay the cacauphony.
so i suppose i, too, am having trouble saying anything today, until the dogs go to sleep.
(i do mean sleep, not preceded by 'put to' ... cuz that's mean.) _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

I don't think you got the meter just right on that haiku, Diane. But I still really liked it.

thanks, amy! i know that YOU know that haiku is 5-7-5 (syllables) and is a favorite pasttime of mine
when i'm trying to take my mind off of pain, like hiking a lot of vertical or
trying to say (or define!) ridiciously. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

I never like to see the word ASKED. If you enunciate, it sounds unnatural and like your from another planet; if you just roll over it, it sounds like mush. I've found a happy medium but it takes real concentration & focus to get it right and make it sound natural. |

Ridiciously: adverb. ri-DISH-issly
To perform an activity in the manner one would use when disposing of dishes.
