Craig,
Mine (Microport pro) is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. _________________ Bobbin Beam

I thought there was software to load, but there wasn't.
Plugged it in and off I went.
As somebody else said, the XLR doesn't lock since the latch is covered by the LED diffuser, but it does have spring tensioned flanges which seem to keep it fairly secure. I imagine there will be some design improvements over time.
I hope it holds up...nifty little gadget.

One thing I forgot to include in my last message... Make sure the PCI card USB 2.0. Anything lower than that will be maddeningly SLOW. I would expect 2.0 to be the standard out there anyway, but I figured it would be best to mention that tidbit just in case. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Excellent point Greg! Automatically assuming a USB PCI card would be 2.0 could be a disaster... there's plenty of retailers (online or brick and mortar) that are just slippery enough to fail to mention they are unloading stale hardware on unsuspecting buyers. _________________ .
