Is your recording software acting as your main soundcard?

I know ProTools is my soundcard (so to speek), so I can only hear audio in Pro Tools and not the internet.

As Kara indicated, we need more information to help make a wise (and quite possibly correct diagnosis),

Did you hear internet audio before recently?
Describe your computer and audio components...
Are you using an on-board or outboard soundcard?
Have you recently changed anything regarding your computer, including but not limited to adding new software or hardware?

And those questions are just the beginning...

Is your computer's sound muted, or volume turned down, by chance?
Go to the control panel and click sounds and audio devices.

I am red-faced about this one! Bobbin was right. Isn't it usually the simpliest things that we forget to check! Of course before I realized this I was searching my brain and interrogating my family to try and anwer Kara and Frank's questions.

Thanks to all of you! You are the best! It feels so supportive to have this board as a resource and source of companionship. Thanks again and again!
