Here's what I do
I search at craigslist.org for each city with the string "voice" or "voice over". At the bottom of each listing is an RSS feed, throw that into Feedreader and feedreader will notify you everytime a new posting is listed. I have 20 something cities in there and it's great. |

What a great site!
So I figured I'd give it a try - and look at what came up in an area I don't normally search in.
| Quote: | We are seeking voice actors to record 30 and 60 second audio segments. We seek sophisticated mature voices who can educate the audience with humility and emotion. We are not selling products, nor promoting commercial items, so it is highly unlikely that we will select persons with this focus.
Also, it is not just enough to have a "great" voice. Many people think that this is all that is necessary to land a gig. We're looking for people who don't sound like they are reading, and who can create an emotional connection with their audience. This is a special gift that not only requires natural talent, but also real training. So, please only contact us if you think you are one of the few who can achieve these incredibly high standards.
Please submit link to examples of your work. |
Sounds good right? Like they actually kinda sorta maybe might get it just a little bit?
Uhhhhh.....no.

You have to be diligent and search daily and be prepared to go days on end with nothing worthwhile. And those that do pay are usually very low. _________________ Jeff
