I recently purchased a Shure PG 48 microphone that I've used for my public address work & intend to use for voiceover work once I've assembled my home studio. I'm delighted with it so far and just wanted to get your comments on this mic if you've had a chance to use it!
Thanks & Happy Holidays,
Tom

For what it is it does a good job but it's a club singers mic, a bingo callers mic or a stand up comedians mic. It is not one for voice over work. have a browse around this site to find comments about home studio set ups.

Good luck.

I'll echo Phil on this. A pretty decent mic suitable for vo work can be had for less than $100. For example, the Samson USB mic mentioned on this bb a few days ago might be an option to look at. Personally, I use an AKG C3000B mic. I don't know anyone on this board who uses (or owns) one of these but it can be had for about $300 new and it has a very good sound. I use it for TV voiceover work. Check Musician's Friend for info on it and more mics. I don't know what your budget is, but shop around a bit first before buying.

if it works on your voice, and in your recording situation, then use it. if you don't like how it sounds then start looking for something else.
