I was playing with my new iPod and its got this cool feature for flipping thru album art to find the song you want. I noticed then that a similar piece of art pops up in Windows Media. Does anyone know how to attach that kind of graphic to an mp3? It would be nice to have my logo or website or whatever pop up as my demo played.
Thanks

The image isn't attached to the MP3, it's downloaded from an online database. There are several such databases, such as AMG (All Media Guide / All Music Guide), although I'm not sure - iTunes may have its own - and the CDs or tracks are matched through a database lookup.
I'm not sure if an individual can upload album art for a self-published CD as I haven't really looked into it. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Matt,
However, it is possible to embed an image in the ID3 tag information, depending on which version of ID3 you use. _________________ Be well,

Actually, iTunes on my Mac allows me to add album art. I imagine the PC version does as well, and other mp3 conversion programs, too.
I imagine only a small percentage of potential listeners are viewing those today, but I'm sure that'll change here pretty quickly.

Affirmative. You can add the album art in the Windows version as well. To me, that would be the easiest way to do it. _________________ Greg Littlefield

My earlier reply was geared towards other people (an agent or producer) seeing the album art when inserting the demo CD or listening to the MP3, not just for when Matt does it

I "tag" all my auditions and demos - with my CoverArt, and add ID3 information - My name, the name of the project, the year, and my website.
If you download one of my demos from my site and open it in your MP3 player you can see the info and cover art there too. |
