I'd like to have someone produce me a new demo, with some coaching thrown in. I've read several recommendations for Edge Studios, NY. Any West Coast recommendations?

N. CA studio recs especially welcome, as I'm looking for a good excuse to make another trip back there this year. Wink

Hi Mary!
I took a few classes at Voice One in SF with Elain Clark and Terry McGovern

http://www.voiceoneonline.com/

Also I've done some post for a client who did his demo at:

http://www.voiceover-training.com/

Have fun! I know there are quite a few in SoCal too... Google is your friend, then check here!

Cheers,
Dave

Try james Alburger at www.voiceacting.com. He wrote the book "the Art of Voice Acting". Bailey & I have both taken classes from Jim Alburger and Penny Abshire.

Ask to hear demos that VO coaches have produced for others. Shop around. Price isn't always important when you're doing something like this. I would have much rather spent a little more money and got a better sounding demo.

Glenn, Sorry your demo didn't turn out! Frown
I didn't do a demo there, just a couple of classes.
Cheers!

I guess everyone has a different experience. I would just be careful. There are lots of VO coaches out there. One just needs to be selective. I know Maurice Tobias in L.A. has long been known as the best. She is expensive though. Someday I hope to have her produce a demo for me.

Thanks, everyone! I'm taking some acting classes first, then it will be New Demo time. I appreciate your input.
