This one from CL takes the proverbial biscuit. Here's the text of the ad:
"Seeking voice over actor to play role of Thirty-something professional/ Businessman." Then there's a phone number. OK, I'm tired of watching the Masters; figure I'd give this guy a call. I ask if the job's been cast, he says no. Then he goes on this marathon spiel of his life story, how he used to be an executive assistant at Sony Pictures, has been trying to make a go as an actor (to no avail) for the last 5 years and now wants to get back into a vocation that'll make mom proud (I'm ad-libbing on the last part). He tells me the "role" he's looking to "cast" is someone who'll pretend to be a former (recent) employer who has glowing things to say about him, why he'd be a great hire, etc.

No thanks.

George Costanza is alive and well, Seinfeld fans! Living somewhere in the 310 area code....

Wow, talk about fraud.

I never respond to craigslist ads that require me to call or audition via voicemail. If you're postig on Craigslist but can't provide me a script to audition via email, I don't want to deal with you.

Well, when you're asking me to pretend that you were a former employee and shower you with praise, that big 'ol red flag be coming up mighty quick.

Morbid curiosity makes me wonder if anyone actually took the time to respond, either seriously or in jest.
