I have a couple of DVD's containing work I've done. I want to put a couple of demo's on my website. So, I need to convert them. One job was on camera acting. I'd like to stream about 15 - 30 sec's of that. The other is VO of a United Way spot. 20 sec's. The DVD's were used by TV stations.

Conversion software is available. Any suggesitons for something inexpensive or even free?

What file format should be used. I've seen AVI and MPEG, but I know nothing about video stuff, at all.

Thanks,

Hi! I use DVDxDVPro to convert DVD files (.VOB) to Quicktime .mov files,
Then you can edit in iMovie/FinalCutPro or use QuickTime Pro to resize etc for streaming.

The issue is it runs on a mac Smile - Frown

I found DVDxDVPro by searching... I'll keep an eye out for a pc tool...
Cheers!

for streaming on the web and for most people to see it, the video should be converted to Windows Media. If you have a MAC, try Flip4Mac. For a PC, most $99 programs have a Windows Media converter built in. Just drop the video file in the timeline, export using WMV. (You also need to determine if your website is set up with a Streaming Media Server.) Then you upload the video file, create a "pointer" to it. Convoluted, I know. Better let your web person handle this.
