According to someone I work with who is the ex of a good voa, FAUX commissioned excellent Simpsons impersonators to use as leverage in previous negotiations to send the message "You are replaceable". No message could be further from the truth. Azaria deserves $50K for Apu alone if you think of how much Apu related merch is sold each year...and that's for a tertiary character!

The jealousy is rampant in virtually every endeavor.

I think that there are 2 groups -
1. those who are thrilled when others succeed (think teachers), and feel happy that they have helped; and
2. those who are thrilled when others fail (think sisters-in-law), and don't feel happy unless they are better than others they haven't helped.

I prefer to be like my 5th Grade Teacher than my sister-in-law.

The Simpsons' cast deserves every penny, if not more. They are succeeding, er . . . have succeeded! They seem to love what they do. I want to be like them . . . not replace them.

don't forget that 3rd group... those who are happy for others in the same industry when they succeed, or when they are rewarded for their hard efforts. {like everyone on this board!} Smile

I can't possibly imagine how anyone could begrudge them the money. They've more than earned it.

How the heck much do some pro sports guys get paid for playing a game?

Only tens of millions. Difference being THAT'S why ticket prices to any of the "all American sports" games are out of reach of the typical American family. Now, how much comes out of our pockets each time we watch the Simpson to pay for that raise?

That's right. Zero, Zip, Zilch. Absolutemente NADA.

Then stop fibbing. Tell him what you really do. That you own and run your own business. That you just happen to be CEO of your company. cool
