the bear is Bo Bo, a droll creation of muppeteer bill barreta (who also came up with Pepe the King Prawn). he appeared as a security guard on the henson series, 'muppets tonight' and sounds similar to some of jim henson's gruff-style voices when he talks. a different version of the bear did appear with Fozzie in Muppets Take Manhattan, but this is a different character.
