No pics of me on the VO site unless you look for it. Although, you can start clicking around and see plenty on the "homepage" and "radio" section. In 2001, my thought was to make the site simple and explanatory for those who had never used an "out of market" voice. Then I got e-mail saying that I they had hired me and no one knew what I looked like. So, I sent them Frank's picture.

I agree with no pic if your voice is not what you look like. One of my teachers told us about this 60ish year old guy who does splendid teenage voices. And that's where his money is.

So obviously, no piccies anywhere of him, and also he doesn't go to voice over conferences either. Because if some of his clients see what he looks like, he's afraid that they'll stereotype him and not use him again for the voices. (Some peeps are like that!)

My face is my TV fortune....so why can't it help in my VO marketing?

On-camera work is part of my array of services, so yeah...it goes on many of the materials I use.

Curiosity always gets the better of me when I notice someone who goes out of their way to avoid posting a personal pic. Not that it has to be up front, but it's natural for people to want to put a face to the voice.

I'm with DB on this one. I do not use my photo on anything... and actually, it took me a while before I decided to actually post my photo on boards like here and vo universe. Why? B/c it's just part of my brand to stick with my logo.

And, I do look like how I sound... if you can imagine that. Ninja

However, I also do a sexy voice for which I've been cast a lot lately... but I wouldn't say that my look is a sexy look. Sooo.... therefore, I stick with my logo in order to not be typecast.

I use my headshot for o/c work, my logo brand for v/o, and determine which application suits the purpose intended at the time, at my discretion.

I have a picture of me buried on a page in my website, but it's like I'm standing about 15 feet away. That's about as close to potential clients as I'm willing to get.

My mother found my website the other day (she's 78 and has just bought her first computer, bless her!) She phoned me up and said she wants a printed copy of that webpage so she can put it on the wall or something.
