5.8 magnitude Earthquake shakes Los Angeles
25 miles ESE of L-A, felt as far away as San Diego.
30 seconds of shaking.
I was awakened by Northridge in 1994.
L-A folks what was it like?
How did it compare if you remember Northridge.
Everybody OK?

my wife was in the Northridge and just in this one. She called me very upset.

She's OK, and we're waiting to hear from the kids who are at camp.

UPDATE: Everyone is OK and accounted for.

Didn't feel it at all here in our place in San Diego. So far, the damage looks minimal - thank goodness.

GREAT.... I was in NYC for 9/11... let's hope my trip to LA doesn't spawn "The Big One" in LA.

I hope everyone is ok!!!!

It was centered in Chino Hills, about 12 miles from us. We felt it pretty good, and it lasted a lot longer than I was comfortable with. We all happened to be in the same room when it happened.
I could hear stuff breaking in the girls' room, and stuff falling off the shelves in the garage.
I've seen the girls' room and cleaned it up. They lost some keepsakes from their mother, which sucks.
Peeked in the garage and saw the boxes that fell also is stuff that was their mom's, so I'm sure we lost more of that.

Update: Not much broken in there, just a mess. Also tweaked the garage door slightly, so opener was on the fritz. After much cursing and the help of very-handy neighbor, all is well with the world. OK, maybe not ALL...we couldn't quite hammer out the details on that whole Middle East thing....

Son's room looks like it usually does. Darned if it doesn't look slightly more organized.

Very grateful to have been with them when this happened. They were pretty scared. Reminds me what my truly priceless treasures are.

Don't have cell service now.

Oh Scott- my heart broke when you mentioned lost keepsakes! I lost a parent at a young age, and only have a few things to remind me of him...BUT...

What matters most is that you and the kids are safe- you are the greatest keepsake they could ever have!

Some felt it where I was in San Diego today, but I was walking down a hall and didn't. Courvo, did you feel it in LV? The news said it was felt there.

I hope everyone's feeling better now who was involved with the earthquake. I experienced quite a few when I lived in LA, and it's no joke. I have strong memories of diving under dining room tables at a moment's notice.

Bless and prayers and good wishes to all affected!

Hmmmm - I, too, was walking down a hall at the time and didn't feel a thing, but many, many folks with whom I am working were totally freaked out. I'm in San Diego, working a program with my late father's organization, (totally un-VO-related...although I am doing some marketing/networking) -

Never been to San Diego...and I LOVE it!
What a great place...
