As with meeting Don LaFontaine, I had a chance to meet John Leader in person just one time. It was at my very first Dan O'Day (and back then Dick Orkin) Summit in 1997. John was on a panel with Joe Cipriano, Bobby Ocean and Danny Dark. At that time I was still so wet behind the ears in the VO world that I didn't really understand who these guys were ... at least not until I heard Dan play their demos.
John stayed after the panel discussion that day, in fact all 4 guys did and hung around with us (about 90 of us that year) talking, shaking hands, getting photos taken and sharing drinks for over an hour after their session ended. He was incredibly nice to me on that occasion. _________________ Be well,

I was/am a big fan of John Leader -- who was/could still be a great VO.
At least now he can take a vacation and not check in with his agent every half hour.
Or wait in his home for copy from 100 stations for which he's imaging.
John, if you are listening, enjoy. _________________ http://MichaelSchoen.com |

Just got back from John Leader's retirement party. Everything was grey. The napkins, the paper plates, the meat appetizers (unidentifiable), the candles...all grey
"I remember that last day in L.A.; you wore blue, the guests at John Leader's farewell party wore grey." Apparently grey is the new black in L.A.
John's taking a Greyhound to Gary, Indiana (it was supposed to be some place named Gray but his travel agent committed a typo) and he will take the Gray Line tour, get off before the tour ends, and not tell us where he's going.
Fading to grey,
