I should have said, Wow! What a beautiful picture of vintage technology. I love it. May I put it on my desktop? Did you take the flick, Jeff? _________________ Charlie |

Ennhhh... maybe not.
I rather savored the notion of turning a hose on you. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

That's actually quite cheap for one of these mics. I'm assuming that the condition reflected the price. Actually, I just took a look. it wasn't all that bad. Cosmetics are a little rough, I noticed some staining on the silks, too. Whoever bought it for that price actually got a pretty good bargain.
On a scale from 1-10, that eBay mic was a 5 or 6. Mine's a 10. Plus, mine has the original RCA desk stand. |

Jeff,
Gotta ask: why, after all these years, and all that love -- are you selling it?

Hi Dave,
That's a fair question. But I may not be selling it at this time. It all depends. I'm just starting to put out some feelers. If I get an offer that sounds right to me, I will part with it. If I don't, then I'll continue to hang onto it.
The good news is that it certainly won't be worth less money if I keep it for another 20 years...
But my main motivation is that I am planning to purchase a very expensive mic to replace my my Neumann TLM-103. And I thought it might make sense to finally let this one go. |

Jeff, that prompts another question for me -- how much for the Neumann TLM-103? That is, if you're planning to sell it.
Thanks!

As you are no doubt able to say from experience Jeff the TLM103 is a superb mic, have you made you decision as to where you go next? Care to share the choice and the reasoning? |

I also have a 77D. I love mine and use it. It was reworked at ENAK and they made it sound like new for about $250. So, someone could take that $1000 77 on EBay and have it reworked.
If you don't get top dollar from someone here, your location (Boss Angeles) may have more "collector" types. Good luck with your sale. |

Dave, I haven't made the decision on whether to sell the TLM-103 just yet. I would sooner sell my EV RE-20 that I retired two years ago and retain the 103 as a back up mic. But again, no decisions on that, just yet.
