Hope everyone in the US had a good Labor Day.

I chose to amuse myself by attempting to learn some stuff about MIDI.
My attempt at Pachelbel's Canon In D Major (6:20)

Pretty laid back today. My wife and I took the kids to the Labor Day Parade and hit the carnival they have every year after that. Came home, did some yard work and been practicing VO copy for around an hour or so.

Napping, reading, playing a Gameboy Final Fantasy game.
Digging through the audio archives.
Going Photoshop-happy .

Life is grand.
Time to make dinner!

Hart,

Gotta tell ya' - I love that peice of music (Pachelbel's Canon in D Minor)and have several hundred versions of it to listen to...

NE-Who, here is a unique version showing the potential of the human voice - sit back and enjoy... In fact I am listening to several versions and some other great tunes while I am practicing to write programming in .jxta (a JAVA derivitave) - my idea of a relaxing day - LOL

Wash dog, wash, vacuum, shampoo cars, throw frisbee for dog, listen to the Pachelbel Canon, brush dog, go through VO contact database trying to weed out companies contacted in the early days who simply are not in one's areas of emphasis, cook dinner...

Tired.

Drove down to Colorado Springs and got my wife all set-up with new skiing equipment from Sports Authority.....Once a year massive sale on all ski equipment. Saved a hell of a lot of money. Now just relaxing and checking out VO-BB

Nice rendition of Pachelbel's Canon in D Minor, Hart. I always liked that composition.

Since I also own a cabinet shop and remodeling company, I spent the day trying to wrap up what started out as a small remodel job for a nice lady who turned out to be a real freakin' PITA! Tomorrow I hope to have the check in my pocket and her in my rear view mirror so's I can get to a narration awaiting me and a new kitchen cabinet gig I picked up over the weekend.

I don't care what bidness it is...those who pay the least for the smallest jobs often turn out to be the biggest pains in the asses. Time for another Bourbon.

My better-half can always find things for me to do (or need to do... or should be doing... or had better get done) on my days off.

Frank, that's awesome!

Drew, thanks.

I promised my wife I wouldn't work today. I don't miss being "in the media" full time anymore.

We have relatives visiting from out of town, so we went to the famous Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues on Sunset yesterday and today we went to the Reagan library.

My wife and kids spent the weekend in Boston and I stayed behind to take care of the dogs since we don't have the $$$ to send them to a hound hotel for two nights. So, I drove around the countryside, looked at houses, took a few dozen of our boxes to storage, cleaned up the living room and kitchen, re-arranged the basement to give the kids more space in which to play, went to some local bookshops to find anything written about local history, worked on some imaging, and did all the laundry. whew...

Hung out with family from out of town. My bro from California was in town and two bros from Cleveland in town also with their families. We all went over to my dad's house and ate way too much...had way too much fun and made some good memories.

My younger brother is absolutely crazy... he was racing down my dad's driveway with our nephews on those razor scooters. My dad has a long, paved driveway on a pretty big hill. So I joined in ....and next thing you know we were pulling anything out of his garage with wheels (carts...lawn mowers....whatever) and racing down the hill. I guess we had some "redneck moments". Boy it was fun to act young again for an hour or so!
