Either Jim Barton or Tom Ackerman or probably both recommended this board to me in glowing terms as the most useful place to visit if one was serious about being a voice talker. My thanks to them.
Although I have learned a bunch here and had a wonderful time e-knowing folks,
it was the out-pouring of love and concern from my VO-BB family during a recovery from a serious accident last April that I will never forget. Your prayers and posts got me thru a very difficult time and it didn't even have anything to do with VO.
This is the greatest collection of gracious, caring, humble, professional and yeah, just a little wacko, folks you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing.
Thanks, DB and all the inmates of this precious place.

Yep. And special thanks to our Mom who apparently does not sleep or eat or have anything resembling a normal life. Although the cake diet is looking pretty good on her these days. |

You are too kind.
The "my husband is in the hospital" diet added a substantial tonnage to the old battleship, I'm sorry to say!
. . . but I must echo the appreciation for the sense of community here. It's just one of those things you can never anticipate or orchestrate, and was never so apparent to me as when Dieter WAS in the hospital and folks here made notes on our Caring Bridge page.
I may be in charge of this joint, but you guys and gals who can withstand my draconian methodology make it what it is.
Thank you ALL.
Life is grand. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

The translation: "I put on 10 pounds earlier this year when DeWitt was in the hospital."
DeWitt is hale and hardy, but I still have the excess. *sigh* _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

I think I found this forum by accident. I cut my VO forum teeth on Savvy and heard talk of "others"... so I checked it out. I recognized some of the names here (but the avatars had been changed to protect the innocent.)
I've made some new friends and been able to keep in touch with old ones since the Savvy Exodus... and I enjoy soaking in the wisdom, talent, and humor that is shared here.
Being an election year, I would be remiss if I didn't throw in a "FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!" _________________ Dave DeAndrea

Then can I have your share of cake Deebs?
I stumbled across the Cyberstation years ago and I checked in on it occasionally, not very often. Then one day it disappeared. I don't know how long after that I stumbled upon this place and realized it had evolved from the Cyberstation. By then I had gotten tired of not knowing anyone other than myself with a home studio (kind of hard to believe - in NY and with a day job in radio - but it's the truth) so this time I stuck around - but I lurked - for about a year. Then just about a year ago I read a post I wanted to respond to and then Liz got her cla... uhm took charge of me and well.... the sun turned out to be pretty bright outside of my cave.
I've met the most awesome people here. Thanks Deebs for providing this place and thanks to Liz for dragging me completely out of my cave once I stuck my head out. |

I'm curious as to whatever happened to Sam at the VO Cyberstation. I was contracted to re-design the site and get it back up and going. Connie e-mailed me some FAQ's but Sam would never answer any e-mails and then all of a sudden disappeared... |

I stumbled on it about the same time as Allen. Let's see...Nov. '04 launch, I joined in August '05. Call me a relatively-somewhat-early-ish adopter.
I lurv this place somethin' fierce. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Yeah— so was I!!
Sam even sent me Virtual PC and Windows XP or 98 or something.
Then he dropped off the face of the earth.
The site went down, I tried to phone him up— I nearly called the police!! I had an address— I wanted to make sure he wasn't murdered or something.
He said he was just out of the country.
Wondered why we hadn't written.
If it ever happens again, just write.
