My pal Dan Friedman, who is also my pickiest producer, has been distilling this information and advice for several years and is now serving it up.
There are many books written about the art of voice acting, this book is about the craft of voice recording. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Added to my to-read list. Thanks for sharing it, DB, and thanks to Dan for writing it! _________________ Justin S. Barrett

Too bad it's not in e-format, Dan. Just a convenient way to go. Ask your permission to translate it into .pdf format myself to keep on the iWare.
Will be one to read very soon.
Thanks to you both.

Let me add that this is well worth a read. It covers lots of useful issues, and it never hurts to know about how to put all the equipment together |

Read your book on the way home from Faffcon 2 in Atlanta, Dan. Liked your conversational style of writing. Wish it had been around when I invested in my private studio several years ago. Still a nice resource. _________________ Lisa |

Ok...y'all talked me into it My copy should be here soon (ordered it last week). It will be here just in time since I'm thinking of giving my home studio a re-haul (which is long overdue).

So, to everyone that did end up buying this book, what did you think? I'm intrigued, but my budget is thin right now, so I really have to justify this purchase... |

Here's my $0.02 ...
I've had the pleasure of meeting Dan a couple of times, and can say that not only does he know what he's talking about, but has a clarity of expression when telling someone about it. I've seen him discuss tech issues with non-technical VO people, and manage to give them a clear path through the minefield.
Now, I'm a tech-head, and when I queried an issue with him, he clearly explained why I was over-complicating the process and why I should re-think. All I can say is that he was spot-on and after reviewing my production process I'm saving time and effort in achieving the desired results. The main reason for this is that Dan's concentration is on VO and not getting bogged-down in the extraneous stuff that will probably cause a non-tech VO to be like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
Dan... this unsolicited testimonial will cost you a Guinness _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish
