Well, my friend, I guess you've never heard of Bum-Butt-R, which, according to the label, helps soothe, protect and moisturize skin, including chapped lips. _________________ Elaine

8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate 0.3% in a petrolatum, lanolin base. Just happen to have a friendly little green can of it right here. I used to be a plasterer, and lime & cement play hell on your hands. It's greasier than grease tho... if you use it on your hands don't drive or use tools without gloves for a while. And it does work well with bad chapped lips, I use it when the Blistex don't do the trick no mo.

Hey PJ,
My wife uses it in the very dry winter days....puts it on her hands, then wears cotton gloves overnight while she's sleeping.... the next morning -- ALL GOOD!....lasts several days....ruins gloves, though.

Bag Balm is an awesome product!
Years ago when we had a dairy I would use this on the cows teats to keep them soft and to protect them in harsh weather. I don't know one farmer who does not have a can of this in the barn and another one in the house. It can aleviate and prevent a host of skin problems!. Here is how we used it:
Rubbed some on the cows teats after every milking to help keep the skin soft and discourage dirt from sticking to the skin. I had soft hands even though I had them in water 4 hours a day milking cows!
We used Bag Balm for chapped ANTYHING to help heal skin on humans and the furry family members. It works great of rashes, hotspots, abrasions, bug/flea bites and is great for helping to protect dog paws in cold, snowy weather. No more tender bleeding puppy toes!
I've used in on my horses, particularly around their mouth, nose and lower legs to discourage dew rot (chapped, blistered areas from much grazing on wet grass) a great side benefit is flys don't like it and won't light on the treated skin.
Yep, I kinda like the stuff.... |
