Thanks so much re: your kind words about my site. Writing was my first love. Just for the record, I'm going to be switching the players on my demos page(s) to the ones I have here. This is another site that I am developing. It's not really "live", although it's actually searchable. I'm expecting to have both sites done in the next month or so. The link is http://gilbertism.com/voice-over-2/voice-over/ I'm trying to get somebody to re-write the code so that you can download from the player, but it's not a simple task. There's also a couple of little issues with the player, such as music notes popping up on the titles. (You'll see what I mean). It will be a "companion" site, that will work more to promote myself for writing, copywriting and production work.
You also need a "responsive" site that will size itself according to the device that is accessing your site. Get rid of the flash, because iPads and iPhones can't work with it. Consider an adaptive website; this means that it would recognize a handheld device is accessing it and would dish up specially formatted content that is more suited for mobile devices. (I'm working on that too)
There are many ways to establish a site. The two biggest problems most people have is
1. You will most likely be ignored.
2. If you can overcome being ignored, you will most likely be forgotten.
I'm not so sure how well what I am doing is working towards addressing those issues, but I am focused on coming up with solutions. It's a bit of a slow grind at the moment. _________________ j.s. gilbert
