Bruce, have you tried *228 to update the phone? It might not even see those closer towers.

I looked that up and apparently it doesn't work on later LTE phones like the iPhone 5... in fact according to one source it can screw things up. Sheesh.

Good to know about this OS update. I've been holding off on it as I've heard some other bugs happened with those that did it right away. Now if I can just get my Mom to not do the update! Long distance IT support is a very hard job.
