I saw the words "snail mail" and while I'm hesitant to give this trick away, I've made a considerable amount of bank by sending the occasional piece of first class mail as either a letter of introduction, thank you or other communique. As someone who has hired a fair share of actors, I have also responded well to receiving snail mail, as opposed to simply deleting an email.
But I think the big thing here to think about is "Who am I?" None of us approaches doing voice over from a vacuum. We have our unique talents, abilities, strengths and weaknesses. I've heard people say "I hate twitter". Well, then don't use twitter.
But perhaps more importantly, why look at any major expenditures before you pick your "low hanging fruit".
This is a podcast I did several years ago, I must preface this by saying that I still think most of the info on here holds up, but I do not endorse the people I did this for in any way, shape or fashion.
