Jeff, I hope I didn't overstate my critique on your audiobook read. That was not my intent. Perhaps I was hearing something that wasn't really there - but I did have the impression that you weren't really "getting into" or comfortable with that particular script. My impression may well be entirely wrong, different ears may hear things completely differently.
You have a good overall style, a pleasant voice that is easy to listen to and you are easy to understand - all very good and very necessary qualities for audiobook reads. Overall, what I percieved as a negative is far outweighed by your many positive qualities. Besides, we are here to find weaknesses and work on them. The good stuff is already working fine and for that reason doesn't stick out like even the most tiny of negatives, however, the good stuff should also be mentioned. I failed to do that in the earlier post and for that I apologize. |

No apology necessary, my friend! I appreciate compliments, but the criticisms are what will make me grow. And I appreciate being called on any areas that could be improved on, no matter their size.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and critique! _________________ Jeff

Jeff:
At this listening, it seems your earlier technical snaufs were fixed.
On IE 7, I had no trouble listening to any of the demos.
I'm going to focus my response to your audiobooks demo and I've only one comment.
I would suggest you fade one segment down and fade the next segment up in a medium tempo to better illustrate there is a new book being read.
You may also want to change the order a bit so that in addition to the different fading technique, they listener can also tell their is a change in story.
With commercials and narrations, this isn't usually as necessary.
Hope this helps. _________________ - Peter

Thanks for the feedback. It's obviously not noticeable enough, but the clips actually crossfade. When I get back from vacation, I'll tweak them to make them more obvious. Thanks! _________________ Jeff
