I can share my experience...

They were offering a Zephyr, and someone would win it. Then, they would re-list it. I could tell it was the same b/c the exact same pics were used, and the exact same language was used. They were also starting the bidding really low. I'm trying to remember what other things clued me in...

I think at one point (mind you, I was watching this over a course of weeks) they listed more than one, but using the same listing and photos.

OH, and they listed them under a wacky category, like Christmas Collectibles/Antiques or something, instead of Pro Audio. So, you wouldn't find it by doing a search for Pro Audio... only if you searched by Telos Zephyr. THAT was a huge clue.

Before I bought mine, I emailed they guy, looked up his web site, and even spoke with him a couple of times. As I recall, I did email the suspicious sellers too (in the beginning) and received a really wacky reply that.

It was just all weird.

Hi George,

Telos Zephyr. One of Howard's old one's. HP is our primary image voice at WAAF in Boston.

Welcome to the board!

This thread's question was "What is your 'audio over IP' technology of choice?" Not what ISDN codec do you use.

There's a good deal to discuss about it all, Jim.

Most folks aren't using audio over IP, but the technologies are coming into bloom so fast that it bears talking about ISDN-based people who are looking to add new means of connection.

The Source Connect looks to be about the most interesting one from where I stand. At this point though ISDN still is the standard as far as I can tell.

Those of us who don't use audio over IP won't be able to see the results because "I don't use any" isn't one of the choices. After a while, will someone post the final results? I'd be interested in seeing what's being used.

Danke,

B

No argument there, DB. But in the interests of those who might not know that there's a difference between ISDN and Audio Over IP, I think it would be a good idea to be clear.

What the others are saying about the fraudulent units are pretty true. Naturally, NEVER bid on something like that from a seller with almost no feedback. And when a seller starts the bidding at $1 on a $2000 box, you KNOW something is up! I happen to get suckered into bidding on one, and Ebay canceled the auction before I realized it was fraud. Pretty impressive...
