Well, color me wrong.
I'm all for it. God knows I don't do private critiques unless green or silver crosses my palm— except on extreme occasion.
When people ask me to listen to their demo, they get 7 seconds to please me.
I don't charge $25, but I also don't spend more than 10 seconds on someone unless they're worth my time. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

right, Deebs, but you're not an agent. It isn't your job to find and hire out new talent. Any critiquing you do is a service and should be compensated accordingly. (I remember some schmuck on a yahoo message board saying that pros should offer free critique advice. gawd, what a jerk. )
The equivalent to what this agent is doing would be you charging $75 to do an audition. _________________ Jeff

She would be better off having the people come in and do a cold read in front of one of her staff. Then let them decide who gets their demos in to the agent for review and possible roster spot. That way, you actually are getting people in that may have a shot at making you some money. I know I would not pay the $75 just for a review. Too many scams out there.
Your best bet, get work on your own and then approach agents that actually get legitimate work in and showcase what you have done on your own. If you are good enough and make that agent believe they can make money from your talents, they will usually not be asking for payments. _________________ Ben

Re vacations.... sigh. I'm all for 'em. Haven't had many lately, and did miss significant work while away last summer, but the trip improved me in so many ways. Since my VO goals include work in other languages, some time away from the mic is a sine qua non.

Great Pic Mary!
Yeah, when you go to Père Lachaise Cemetery, pretty much the only one you DON'T need a map for is Jim Morrison's....Just folow all the "Jim" arrows scratched/grafittied on everyone else's marker! (I actually have a picture of it from the 1980's, before his headstone was stolen by some "fans")
Thus ends today's Paris tour!

Hmmmm, given the evidence, would you care to reconsider that statement? _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

is this so obvious?
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
he's alive.
