You guys laugh all you want. I actually landed this gig for a rate that I quoted, not the rate in the ad. I guess he heard the voices you get for $30 and decided he wanted something more professional.

Every time I see one of those ads, I shoot off a form letter saying that if their budget increases and they want to hire pro VO, then to shoot me a mail. Sometimes it works, like in this case. We have a phone patch session in the next day or so.

I do the same thing with imaging requests for men— I send a link to my demo with a note saying "If you ever need a female. . . ."

Amazing what happens!
